| Comments | Made from pure Fe2O3 (> 98%, Sigma Aldrich), SiO2 (>99.5%, Thermo Fisher), Al2O3 (>99%, Acros Organics) and CaO (>97 %, Acros Organics). Just prior to quenching CO/CO2 gas (60 L/h, ratio CO/CO2 ratio = 2) was bubbled through the melt to achieve the desired oxidation state of Fe (Fe(II)). Afterwards, the slag was poured directly into water in order to quench. |
